About Carahuasi

Twenty years ago, a family built a house in the hills.

The story

Not a lodge. Not a business. A place to come back to.

Over two decades, it grew — slowly, in the way that good things do. Five bedrooms. Two residential modules. A kitchen that became the center of every gathering. Land with horses. Land with a river.

Today, Carahuasi opens its doors to a small number of groups each year — families, friends, people who want to disappear for a few days without disappearing entirely.

One group at a time. The whole house.

Carahuasi is not a hotel with rooms available for individual booking. When you come, you take the whole house — all five bedrooms, the common spaces, the kitchen, the land.

Up to 10 guests. One stay at a time. No strangers on the property.

This means: dinner happens at one long table, not in a restaurant with other tables. The horses are available to your group, not shared with another party. The silence belongs entirely to you.

The land

Not Patagonia. Not the Pampas. Córdoba’s secret.

The Sierras de Córdoba. Near Lutti. Two hours from Córdoba city.

The property sits in a valley surrounded by the hills characteristic of the Comechingón mountains — named after the indigenous peoples who lived here for thousands of years before Argentina was Argentina.

The landscape is dry hills and river stones, wild herbs and eucalyptus, hawks in the afternoon sky, and a night sky without light pollution.

The place

Why the Sierras de Córdoba.

The Comechingón mountains — named after the indigenous people who have lived in this territory for centuries — form the western horizon of Córdoba Province. They are not the Andes. They are older, lower, and quieter. The air is different. The pace is different.

The property sits in a valley just outside the village of Lutti. There are no visible neighbours. The nearest town is one hour away. The stars, on a clear night, are remarkable. This is not an accident of location — it’s the point.

The standard

What twenty years looks like.

A property run by the same family for two decades develops a specific kind of institutional knowledge. Which trails are safe after rain. How to time the fire for the right char on the lamb. When the river runs highest and when it’s best to swim. What guests from Buenos Aires need to understand before they arrive.

That knowledge doesn’t transfer to a franchise or a management company. It stays in the family — and it’s what makes a stay at Carahuasi fundamentally different from anything else in the region.

Come see what twenty years builds.
